Marianne Goodrum Killgo passed through the veil on Saturday, October 23rd surrounded by her 4 children, her proudest accomplishments.
Born in 1961 in Dallas, TX, Marianne was adopted by Eugene & Margaret Goodrum. She was raised in Garland, TX and graduated from Garland HS and forever loved owls. She married Mark Killgo in 1980, and together they had 4 children. They moved to Indiana in 1994 for Mark’s career and divorced in 1997. She went on to raise the children while simultaneously going to school and working. She received a Bachelor of Psychology in 1999 and a Master of Social Work in 2001.
Marianne spent her entire career as a Social Worker working at various agencies ranging from Child Protective Services, to the Public Health Department and a few private agencies. She poured her heart into loving and serving those who needed an advocate.
Marianne never met a stranger, would give her last dollar to someone else in need and was an extroverted ginger. When she wasn’t doting on and caring for her grandchildren, she loved spending time with her girlfriends watching movies, participating in book club, and singing raucously at karaoke nights. Her disarming smile and fiery curls lit up any room.
She is survived by her children, Brannon & Emily Killgo, Aubrianne & Rusty Bishop, Courtney & Ashlee Killgo, and Kaitlyn Killgo, her beloved grandchildren, Merrick, Grace & Declan Killgo, Ellianne, Rhett, Georgia & Reeve Bishop, Haevyn & Baby Boy Killgo due Jan 2022. Her siblings Lou Goodrum, Ron Deming, and Gena Hetherington. Many nieces and nephews and Her friends of 57 years, Liz Cummings and Julie Daniel.
